ISPS Democratic Innovations: A Conversation with Stuart Buck of the Good Science Project
How can government better leverage scientific evidence in policymaking? Alan Gerber, director of the Institution for Social and Policy Studies, will provide introductory remarks and set the stage for a conversation with Stuart Buck about the intersection of research funding, scientific evidence, and government policy-making led by Michelle Hahn, Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Tobin Center for Economic Policy. We'll explore the barriers to evidence-based policy, from misaligned incentives in research funding to the gap between academic findings and practical implementation.
This event is co-sponsored by The Data-Intensive Social Science Center, the Democratic Innovations program at The Institution for Social and Policy Studies, the Tobin Center for Economic Policy, and Yale Library.
