Sendhil Mullainathan is a Professor of Economics and Engineering & Computer Science at MIT. His recent work focuses on the application of machine learning to human behavior in contexts spanning economics, law, education and beyond. His is currently developing algorithmic models he calls “Bicycles for the Mind”—a metaphor for efficiency. Mullainathan’s work has been recognized with a MacArthur “Genius Grant” and listings as a “Top 100 Thinker” by Foreign Policy Magazine and “Smart List: 50 people who will change the world” by Wired Magazine.
